Seamless Round Steel Tubing is made from a solid cylindrical piece of steel called a billet. The billet is heated, stretched, and then pierced to create a hollow tube. Welded Round Steel Tubing is made by rolling a flat steel strip into a tube shape and then welding the edges together. Welded tubing is generally more cost-effective and can be produced in larger quantities. However, the welded seam can be a point of weakness.
